IDS must communicate with the License Server on a regular basis to validate the license. A validation automatically occurs at each start-up when IDS is connected to the internet. When IDS is not connected to the internet a validation cannot occur and warning messages will be displayed as the Validation deadline approaches as shown below.

Selecting the Validate button above will validate the license if IDS is connected to the internet at the time this validation is attempted. If IDS is not connected to the internet while attempting the validation, an offline validation process is available.

Failure to validate by the Validation deadline cause the license to become invalid, which disables Vehicle Communications as stated below.
