Evaluation of the entire shop to make sure the on-going training supports the overall business plan. Development of the "big picture" for the future.

Two major areas are taken into consideration:
Planning for the future starts here and could range from the next three months to five years. This will serve as the foundation for the rest of the process.

An overall idea of what general changes are required to support the service business in the future.

Identify current or possible future shortfalls to your goal of technician training standards and/or shop competency using the "Technical Training Planner" along with the "Dealership Service Technician Specialty Training Requirements Report."

After comparing the requirements with the current status on each technician, one form will have all the information needed to:
Develop a training plan for each technician based on the needs identified in step #2. These will serve as the long-term plan for each technician and shop.
